Description

These Sausage, Egg & Cheese Crescent Rolls are an irresistible breakfast or brunch treat! Packed with savory sausage, creamy scrambled eggs, and melted gouda cheese—all wrapped in golden, flaky crescent roll dough. These rolls are easy to prepare, delicious, and perfect for a morning pick-me-up.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 sausage links, cooked through

  • 1 cup shredded cheese (smoked gouda or your preferred cheese)

  • 3 eggs, scrambled

  • 1 (8 oz) container flaky crescent rolls

  • 1 egg yolk

  • 1 tsp heavy cream

  • Sea salt (to taste)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

  • Cook the sausage links according to the package instructions. Once cooked, slice them into bite-sized pieces.

  • In a bowl, scramble the eggs and cook them in a non-stick pan over medium heat until soft and slightly runny. Remove from heat once they’re done, to avoid overcooking.

  • Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles on the prepared baking sheet.

  • Place a few pieces of sausage, a generous spoonful of scrambled eggs, and a sprinkle of shredded cheese in the center of each dough triangle.

  • Carefully roll up the dough, starting from the wide end of each triangle. Pinch the edges to seal the rolls.

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the egg yolk and heavy cream. Brush this mixture over the top of each crescent roll for a golden, glossy finish. Sprinkle lightly with sea salt.

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and fully cooked.

  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For variety, you can substitute the sausage with bacon, turkey sausage, or a vegetarian alternative.

  • Smoked gouda gives the rolls a rich, smoky flavor, but feel free to use cheddar, mozzarella, or any cheese you prefer.

  • For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of herbs (such as chives or parsley) or a dash of hot sauce to the scrambled eggs.
