Ingredients

Scale

For the Cookie Base:

  • 1 cup butter, softened

  • ⅓ cup white sugar

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 egg

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ¼ teaspoon almond extract

  • 2¾ cups cake flour (or 2½ cups all-purpose flour)

  • 2½ teaspoons baking soda

  • 2½ teaspoons cream of tartar

For the Frosting:

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened

  • ½ cup butter, softened

  • ⅛ teaspoon almond extract

  • 3 cups powdered sugar (adjust to taste)

For the Toppings:

  • 8 oz fresh blueberries

  • 32 oz fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

  • ¼ cup white chocolate chips (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Make the Cookie Base:

    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

    • In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, white sugar, and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.

    • Beat in the egg, vanilla, and almond extract.

    • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar.

    • Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until dough forms.

    • Press the dough into a greased 9×13-inch pan or shape into a rectangle on a lined baking sheet.

    • Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until lightly golden. Cool completely.

  2. Prepare the Frosting:

    • Beat cream cheese and butter together until smooth.

    • Add almond extract and powdered sugar; beat until light and creamy.

    • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar as desired.

  3. Decorate the Pizza:

    • Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled cookie crust.

    • Arrange blueberries in the top left corner to form the blue square of the flag.

    • Place sliced strawberries in rows to mimic red stripes.

    • Optional: Melt white chocolate chips and drizzle over the strawberries for extra flair.

  4. Chill and Serve:

    • Refrigerate for 30 minutes before slicing.

    • Cut into squares and serve chilled.

Notes

This dessert is best served cold for clean slices and fresh flavor.

You can use a store-bought sugar cookie dough to save time.
