Description

These Rice Krispie Treats are ultra gooey, buttery, and packed with marshmallow flavor. Made with just a handful of ingredients and no baking required, they’re the perfect nostalgic treat for parties, lunchboxes, or a quick and satisfying dessert anytime.


Ingredients

  • ¾ cup (170g or 12 Tbsp) unsalted butter

  • 2 bags (10 oz each / 566g total) mini marshmallows

  • ½ tsp pure vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt

  • 9 cups (270g) crispy rice cereal


Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium-low heat, melt the butter.

  2. Once melted, set aside about 1 heaping cup of marshmallows and add the rest to the pot. Stir continuously until fully melted.

  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt.

  4. Add the crispy rice cereal and mix until well coated.

  5. Gently fold in the reserved marshmallows for added texture.

  6. Transfer mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking pan. Lightly press down using a buttered spatula or wax paper.

  7. Let set at room temperature for 1 hour, then slice and serve.

Notes

Don’t press the mixture too firmly into the pan or the treats will turn out hard.

For extra flavor, brown the butter before adding the marshmallows.

You can add mix-ins like chocolate chips, peanut butter, or candy pieces once slightly cooled
