Description

Crispy on the outside, pillowy soft inside, and swirled with cinnamon sweetness—these Cinnamon Roll French Toast Bites are a playful, indulgent twist on breakfast classics. Perfect for dipping in maple syrup or cream cheese glaze, they’re ideal for weekend brunch, a delightful snack, or a fun dessert!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can refrigerated cinnamon rolls (or homemade), cut into bite-sized pieces

  • 2 large eggs

  • ½ cup milk (whole milk preferred)

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 2 tablespoons butter (for frying)

  • Maple syrup or cream cheese glaze (for serving)

  • Optional toppings: fresh berries, powdered sugar, whipped cream

Instructions

  • Prep the Batter: In a shallow bowl or pie dish, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well blended.

  • Heat the Skillet: Place a large non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and let it melt, swirling to coat the surface.

  • Dip & Cook: Working in batches, dip cinnamon roll pieces into the egg mixture quickly—just enough to coat. Place them in the hot skillet, ensuring they’re not overcrowded.

  • Flip for Even Browning: Cook for about 1–2 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and slightly crispy on the edges.

  • Add More Butter: Add the remaining tablespoon of butter as needed between batches to prevent sticking and maintain richness.

  • Serve Warm: Arrange bites on a plate, drizzle with maple syrup or cream cheese glaze, and finish with your chosen toppings like berries, powdered sugar, or whipped cream.

Notes

Batch Strategy: Keep cooked bites warm on a baking sheet in a low oven (around 90 °C / 200 °F) if preparing in multiple batches.

Make-Ahead Idea: Pre-cut and store cinnamon roll bites in a sealed container. Assemble and cook just before serving for maximum texture.
