Description

A timeless dessert featuring a flaky homemade crust filled with a rich, sweet, and nutty pecan filling. Perfect for holidays or any special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 homemade pie crust, unbaked

  • 1 cup granulated sugar (200 g)

  • 3 tablespoons light brown sugar (40 g)

  • ½ teaspoon salt (3 g)

  • 1 cup light corn syrup (240 ml)

  • ¾ teaspoon vanilla extract (3.75 ml)

  • ⅓ cup salted butter, softened or melted (75 g)

  • 3 large eggs

  • 1½ cups pecan halves (150 g), chopped or whole

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Roll out the pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish. Trim edges as desired.

  3. In a large bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, brown sugar, salt, and corn syrup until combined.

  4. Add vanilla extract, melted butter, and eggs to the sugar mixture. Whisk until smooth.

  5. Stir in pecans, mixing to coat them evenly.

  6. Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.

  7. Bake for 55–60 minutes or until the filling is set and the crust is golden. If the crust browns too quickly, cover edges with foil.

  8. Cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a softer filling, reduce baking time slightly.

Leftover pecans can be toasted for a crunchy topping on salads or desserts.
