Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (18.25 oz) red velvet cake mix
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
- 1 package Hershey’s Kisses (unwrapped, 36 pieces)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- In a large bowl, combine the red velvet cake mix, flour, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract. Stir until a thick dough forms.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in granulated sugar to coat.
- Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are set and the cookies have slightly flattened.
- Immediately after removing the cookies from the oven, press an unwrapped Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of salt to the dough or a dash of cocoa powder for a more intense chocolate taste.
- These cookies are best enjoyed within a few days but can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
- If you want a more festive look, try using different types of Hershey’s Kisses (like the caramel-filled ones) or sprinkles on top before baking.
