Ingredients

Scale

Brown Butter Hot Fudge Brownie Loaf:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup salted butter

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 eggs, at room temperature

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 cup buttermilk (or substitute: 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar + 1 cup milk of choice), at room temperature

  • 1/2 cup hot fudge sauce (see recipe below)

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips of choice

  • Vanilla ice cream, for serving

Hot Fudge Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup salted butter

  • 2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • 8oz evaporated milk or half-and-half

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 6 tbsp cocoa powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 2 tbsp vanilla extract

Instructions

For the Hot Fudge Brownie Loaf:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

  3. In a saucepan, melt the salted butter over medium heat, then cook until it turns a golden brown color (about 5 minutes). Be careful not to burn it.

  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted browned butter and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined.

  5. Add the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing after each addition.

  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk (or milk + vinegar mixture), beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

  7. Stir in the hot fudge sauce and chocolate chips, mixing gently.

  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

  9. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  10. Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

For the Hot Fudge Sauce:

  1. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

  2. Add the semi-sweet chocolate chips, evaporated milk (or half-and-half), sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. Stir constantly until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

  3. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. Let the sauce cool slightly before drizzling over the cooled brownie bread.

Notes

  • Serve the hot fudge brownie bread warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for the ultimate indulgence.

  • For a more intense chocolate flavor, use dark chocolate chips in the batter and sauce.
