Description
These King’s Hawaiian Cheesecake Danishes are a rich, gooey, and buttery twist on your favorite pastry! Made with soft Hawaiian rolls, a sweet cinnamon-butter topping, and creamy cheesecake filling, they’re incredibly easy to make and perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert.
Ingredients
-
1 (12-pack) King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
-
⅓ cup butter, melted
-
2 tbsp brown sugar
-
½ tbsp ground cinnamon
-
⅛ tsp freshly grated nutmeg
-
8 oz cream cheese, softened (room temperature)
-
3 tbsp granulated sugar
-
1 large egg, beaten
Instructions
-
Preheat oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking dish with parchment or lightly grease it. -
Prepare rolls:
Without separating the rolls, slice the entire sheet horizontally in half (like a slider bun). Place the bottom half in the prepared dish. -
Make cinnamon butter:
In a small bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Brush some of this mixture over the bottom layer of rolls. -
Make cheesecake filling:
In another bowl, beat cream cheese, granulated sugar, and beaten egg until smooth and creamy. -
Assemble danish:
Spread the cheesecake mixture evenly over the bottom rolls. Place the top half of the rolls back on and brush the remaining cinnamon butter over the top. -
Bake:
Bake for 18–22 minutes or until the tops are golden and the filling is set.
-
Cool slightly and serve:
Allow to cool for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
For extra indulgence, drizzle with a simple icing made from powdered sugar and milk.
Can be prepped ahead and baked just before serving.
Nutmeg is optional but adds a nice depth of flavor.
