Description

This light and fluffy strawberry mousse combines the rich flavors of cream cheese or coconut cream with fresh strawberries for a refreshing, indulgent treat. Perfect for a simple yet elegant dessert, this mousse can be enjoyed on its own or paired with other fruits and toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese (or coconut cream for a dairy-free option)

  • 4 oz yogurt (or additional cream cheese/coconut cream)

  • 1 cup powdered sugar (or a sugar-free alternative)

  • 5 medium-sized strawberries (optional, for added strawberry flavor)

  • ¼ tsp vanilla bean paste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients: If using cream cheese, ensure it’s softened for easier mixing. If using coconut cream, make sure it’s chilled and solidified.

  2. Blend the base: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese (or coconut cream), yogurt, and powdered sugar (or sugar-free alternative) using a hand mixer or stand mixer until smooth and fluffy.

  3. Add the strawberries: If using fresh strawberries, puree the strawberries in a blender or mash them with a fork to get a smooth consistency. Add the strawberry puree to the mixture and beat until fully incorporated. If not using strawberries, you can skip this step and go straight to adding the vanilla.

  4. Flavor it up: Add the vanilla bean paste and mix well.

  5. Chill and set: Spoon the mousse into serving dishes or glasses and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours to set.

  6. Serve: Garnish with additional fresh strawberries or whipped cream, if desired, and serve chilled.

Notes

  • For a smoother texture, you can strain the strawberry puree before adding it to the mousse mixture.

  • If you prefer a stronger strawberry flavor, feel free to add more strawberries or use a strawberry extract.

  • This mousse can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
