Description
This light and fluffy strawberry mousse combines the rich flavors of cream cheese or coconut cream with fresh strawberries for a refreshing, indulgent treat. Perfect for a simple yet elegant dessert, this mousse can be enjoyed on its own or paired with other fruits and toppings.
Ingredients
-
8 oz cream cheese (or coconut cream for a dairy-free option)
-
4 oz yogurt (or additional cream cheese/coconut cream)
-
1 cup powdered sugar (or a sugar-free alternative)
-
5 medium-sized strawberries (optional, for added strawberry flavor)
-
¼ tsp vanilla bean paste
Instructions
-
Prepare the ingredients: If using cream cheese, ensure it’s softened for easier mixing. If using coconut cream, make sure it’s chilled and solidified.
-
Blend the base: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese (or coconut cream), yogurt, and powdered sugar (or sugar-free alternative) using a hand mixer or stand mixer until smooth and fluffy.
-
Add the strawberries: If using fresh strawberries, puree the strawberries in a blender or mash them with a fork to get a smooth consistency. Add the strawberry puree to the mixture and beat until fully incorporated. If not using strawberries, you can skip this step and go straight to adding the vanilla.
-
Flavor it up: Add the vanilla bean paste and mix well.
-
Chill and set: Spoon the mousse into serving dishes or glasses and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours to set.
-
Serve: Garnish with additional fresh strawberries or whipped cream, if desired, and serve chilled.
Notes
-
For a smoother texture, you can strain the strawberry puree before adding it to the mousse mixture.
-
If you prefer a stronger strawberry flavor, feel free to add more strawberries or use a strawberry extract.
-
This mousse can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
