Description

These Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants are the perfect savory snack or lunch! Warm, flaky croissants are filled with smoked cheddar, deli ham, and a tangy, sweet mustard-honey sauce, then baked to golden perfection. A sprinkle of poppy seeds adds the final touch for extra flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 mini croissants
  • 4 slices smoked cheddar cheese (or regular cheddar), halved
  • ¾ pound deli-cut ham
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large egg white

  • Poppy seeds, for sprinkling

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Slice each croissant in half horizontally.
  • Lay the bottom halves of the croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Place one slice of halved cheddar cheese on each croissant bottom.
  • Layer the deli ham over the cheese, dividing it evenly between the croissants.
  • In a small bowl, combine softened butter, yellow mustard, honey, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until smooth.
  • Brush the mustard-honey mixture generously over the ham layer.
  • Place the top halves of the croissants on top.
  • Brush the egg white over the tops of the croissants for a golden, shiny finish.
  • Sprinkle poppy seeds over the egg-washed croissants.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the croissants are golden brown and the cheese is melted.

  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can use regular cheddar or any other cheese you prefer, such as Swiss or provolone.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of honey and mustard to suit your taste.

  • These croissants can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving.
