Description

Juicy, seared steak bites coated in a smoky Cajun spice blend and finished in a rich garlic butter sauce. A bold and satisfying dish that comes together quickly—perfect for a weeknight dinner or as an appetizer for guests.

Ingredients

Scale

Cajun Seasoning Blend:

  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika

  • 1½ teaspoons kosher salt

  • 1½ teaspoons garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano

  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

  • ½ teaspoon light brown sugar

  • ¼ teaspoon dried thyme

Steak Bites:

  • pounds steak (sirloin, strip, or ribeye), cut into 1.5–2 inch cubes

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 5 cloves garlic, minced or grated

  • Fresh parsley, minced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Make the Cajun Seasoning:
Combine all Cajun seasoning ingredients in a small bowl and mix well.

  2. Season the Steak:
Pat steak pieces dry with paper towels. Place in a bowl and sprinkle with Cajun seasoning. Toss to coat evenly.

  3. Sear the Steak Bites:
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak in batches (do not overcrowd) and sear for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Transfer to a plate and repeat with remaining steak.

  4. Make Garlic Butter Sauce:
Reduce heat to medium. Add remaining oil and butter to the pan. Once melted, stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

  5. Combine & Finish:
Return the steak to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic butter. Heat for another minute until everything is hot and well combined.

  6. Garnish & Serve:
Sprinkle with minced parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

You can adjust the heat by reducing the cayenne pepper or omitting it altogether.

Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or crusty bread to soak up the sauce

Great for meal prep—store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
