  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar

  • 4 slices thick white bread

  • 1½ tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 Honeycrisp apple (or preferred variety), thinly sliced

  • 4 oz brie cheese, thinly sliced (rind on or off, your preference)


Instructions

  1. Mix cinnamon sugar:

    • In a small bowl, stir together the cinnamon and sugar.

  2. Prepare bread:

    • Spread softened butter on one side of each bread slice.

    • Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the buttered sides.

  3. Assemble sandwich:

    • On the unbuttered side of two slices, layer brie and apple slices.

    • Top with remaining bread slices, buttered side facing out.

  4. Cook:

    • Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-low heat.

    • Cook sandwiches for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and brie is melted. Press gently with a spatula for even browning.

  5. Serve:

    • Slice in half and serve warm.

Notes

Use a firm apple like Fuji or Pink Lady if Honeycrisp isn’t available.

Add a drizzle of honey or a few walnuts inside for a gourmet upgrade.

Brie can be substituted with camembert or a mild white cheddar if desired.
