This Mongolian Beef and Noodle recipe brings bold, savory-sweet flavors to the table with tender ground beef, aromatic garlic and ginger, and a rich, glossy sauce tossed with linguini. It’s quick, satisfying, and perfect for busy weeknights or takeout-style cravings at home!
Ingredients
For the Sauce:

8 tablespoons dark soy sauce (or low-sodium soy sauce)

5 tablespoons hoisin sauce

½ cup beef broth (made from 1 bouillon cube or beef stock)

1 tablespoon sesame oil

3 tablespoons brown sugar

½ teaspoon chili flakes

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon cornstarch
For the Noodles:

9 oz (250g) linguini

Salt, to taste
For the Ground Beef:

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 lb (450g) ground beef (preferably 90% lean)

4 teaspoons minced garlic (or garlic paste)

3 teaspoons minced ginger (or ginger paste)

4 green onions, chopped (or spring onions)

Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions

Cook the Noodles:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the linguini according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside. -
Make the Sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, beef broth, sesame oil, brown sugar, chili flakes, black pepper, and cornstarch. Set aside. -
Cook the Beef:
In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up, until browned and cooked through (about 5–7 minutes). -
Add Aromatics:
Stir in garlic and ginger. Cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant. -
Combine and Simmer:
Pour in the sauce and stir to combine. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes until thickened and glossy. -
Toss in Noodles:
Add the cooked linguini to the pan and toss well to coat in the sauce.

Finish and Serve:
Stir in chopped green onions, garnish with sesame seeds, and serve hot.
Notes
For added crunch, you can stir in some thinly sliced bell peppers or shredded carrots.
Adjust chili flakes to taste depending on your spice preference.
This recipe works well with rice noodles, udon, or even spaghetti if linguini isn’t available.
