A luxurious seafood twist on classic lasagna, featuring tender shrimp layered with creamy ricotta, melted mozzarella, and a rich, garlicky white sauce infused with a splash of white wine and bright lemon juice. This elegant dish is perfect for dinner parties or special occasions.
Ingredients

9 lasagna noodles

4 Tbsp butter

3–4 cloves garlic, minced

¼ cup all-purpose flour

¼ cup Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio (or substitute clam juice, water, or broth)

3 cups whole milk
-
1 tsp salt, divided
-
1 tsp pepper, divided
-
1 large egg
-
15 oz ricotta cheese
-
1 tsp dried basil
-
3 Tbsp lemon juice
-
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1½ lbs cooked shrimp (tails removed, cut into large chunks)

4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions

Cook noodles:

Boil lasagna noodles in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Make white sauce (béchamel):

In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant (~1 min).

Whisk in flour and cook 1–2 min until lightly golden.

Gradually whisk in wine and milk, cooking and stirring until thickened (~5–7 min). Season with ½ tsp salt and ½ tsp pepper.

Prepare ricotta mixture:

In a bowl, combine ricotta, egg, dried basil, lemon juice, remaining ½ tsp salt and ½ tsp pepper, and Parmesan. Mix well.

Assemble lasagna:

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Spread a thin layer of white sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.

Layer noodles, ricotta mixture, shrimp chunks, shredded mozzarella, and white sauce. Repeat layers ending with mozzarella on top.

Bake:

Cover with foil and bake 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Let rest 10 minutes before serving.

Sprinkle with fresh parsley.

Notes
Use freshly cooked shrimp for best flavor; frozen shrimp also work well.
Substitute white wine with clam juice or broth for a non-alcoholic version.
For extra depth, add a pinch of nutmeg to the white sauce.
Store leftovers covered in fridge up to 3 days.
