Description

Juicy, flavorful smash burgers meet handheld convenience in these Smash Burger Tacos. With crispy edges on perfectly seasoned ground beef, melty cheese, fresh iceberg lettuce, and tangy pickles wrapped in warm flour tortillas, they’re a fun twist on classic burgers. Serve with chipotle ranch for a creamy kick — perfect for weeknight dinners or casual get-togethers!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound grass-fed ground beef

  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • 4 flour tortillas

  • 4 slices American or sharp cheddar cheese

  • 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce

  • Sliced dill pickles

  • Chipotle ranch dressing, for serving

Instructions

  • Prepare beef: Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape each into a loose ball.

  • Cook patties: Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Place each beef ball on the hot surface and smash down firmly with a spatula until very thin. Cook for 2-3 minutes until crispy on the edges, then flip.

  • Add cheese: Place a slice of cheese on each patty and cook for another 1-2 minutes until melted and the burger is cooked through. Season with salt and pepper.

  • Warm tortillas: Warm the flour tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until pliable.

  • Assemble tacos: Place a patty on each tortilla, top with shredded lettuce and sliced pickles. Drizzle with chipotle ranch dressing to taste.

  • Serve: Fold and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, add sautéed onions or a splash of barbecue sauce.

Swap flour tortillas for corn tortillas or lettuce wraps for a lighter option.

Use sharp cheddar for a bolder cheese taste or American for classic meltiness.

Leftover patties make great sandwich fillers!
