- 1 box white cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
- 1 package (3 oz) strawberry gelatin
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping (or homemade whipped cream)
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries (optional, for garnish)
- Sprinkles (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
-
- Prepare the white cake mix according to the instructions on the box and bake in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- While the cake is baking, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water. Stir in cold water and set aside to cool slightly.
- Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool for about 10 minutes.
- Using the handle of a wooden spoon or a similar object, poke holes evenly across the entire cake.
- Pour the cooled gelatin mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak into the holes.
- Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours to allow the gelatin to set.
- Once chilled, spread the whipped topping evenly over the cake.
- Garnish with fresh strawberries and sprinkles to make it extra festive for Easter.
- Slice, serve, and enjoy!
Notes
- You can use any flavor of gelatin for a different twist on the cake’s color and flavor.
- If you’d like a more layered look, consider using multiple colors of gelatin.
