Description

A colorful and festive cake filled with vibrant layers of flavored gelatin, topped with a creamy whipped topping, perfect for your Easter celebration. It’s a fun, easy, and delicious dessert to make with the kids!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box white cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
  • 1 package (3 oz) strawberry gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping (or homemade whipped cream)
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries (optional, for garnish)

  • Sprinkles (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

    1. Prepare the white cake mix according to the instructions on the box and bake in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
    2. While the cake is baking, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water. Stir in cold water and set aside to cool slightly.
    3. Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool for about 10 minutes.
    4. Using the handle of a wooden spoon or a similar object, poke holes evenly across the entire cake.
    5. Pour the cooled gelatin mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak into the holes.
    6. Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours to allow the gelatin to set.
    7. Once chilled, spread the whipped topping evenly over the cake.
    8. Garnish with fresh strawberries and sprinkles to make it extra festive for Easter.
    9. Slice, serve, and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can use any flavor of gelatin for a different twist on the cake’s color and flavor.
  • If you’d like a more layered look, consider using multiple colors of gelatin.

  • For a more indulgent cake, use homemade whipped cream instead of store-bought whipped topping.
