Ingredients
Scale
- 1 shot of espresso (or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee)
- 1/2 cup steamed milk (dairy or non-dairy, like oat or almond milk)
- 2 tbsp mascarpone cheese
- 1 tbsp sugar (or to taste)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp coffee liqueur (optional, like Kahlúa, for a boozy twist)
- Cocoa powder or chocolate shavings (for garnish)
- Ground cinnamon (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Brew the espresso: Start by brewing a shot of espresso. If you don’t have an espresso machine, you can substitute with strong brewed coffee (about 1/2 cup).
- Make the mascarpone mixture: In a small bowl, whisk together the mascarpone cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. You can add the coffee liqueur at this stage if you’re using it for an extra kick.
- Steam the milk: In a separate saucepan, gently heat your milk (or milk alternative) over medium heat until it’s warm but not boiling. You can also use a milk frother to steam the milk for a frothy texture.
- Assemble the latte: In a tall glass or mug, pour the hot espresso or coffee. Add the mascarpone mixture to the coffee and stir until it’s well combined.
- Add the steamed milk: Pour the steamed milk into the glass with the coffee and mascarpone mixture, stirring gently to combine. The milk should create a creamy texture, blending with the rich coffee.
- Garnish: Dust the top with a light sprinkle of cocoa powder or chocolate shavings, and add a pinch of ground cinnamon if desired for extra warmth and flavor.
- Serve: Serve your tiramisu latte immediately, and enjoy the indulgent flavors of tiramisu in your coffee!
Notes
- If you don’t have mascarpone cheese, you can substitute with a mixture of cream cheese and heavy cream to get a similar creamy texture.
- For an extra indulgent touch, add a dollop of whipped cream on top of the latte before garnishing.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar depending on your taste preference.
