This Honey-Garlic Salmon is a perfect balance of sweet and savory, with a luscious honey garlic glaze that coats each tender fillet. Whether baked or pan-seared, this dish comes together in minutes and is a delightful addition to any meal, making it an easy yet elegant choice for busy weeknights or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley or lemon wedges for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the salmon: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) if you’re baking the salmon. Otherwise, you can pan-sear it.
  • Season the salmon fillets with salt, pepper, and dried thyme (if using).
  • Make the honey-garlic sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, garlic, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice.
  • Cook the salmon:
    • For Baking: Place the seasoned salmon fillets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spoon or brush the honey-garlic mixture over the top of the fillets. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
    • For Pan-Searing: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once the pan is hot, place the salmon fillets skin-side down and cook for 3-4 minutes per side. After flipping, pour the honey-garlic sauce over the fillets and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Remove from the heat and garnish with fresh parsley or lemon wedges, if desired.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness of the sauce by adding more or less honey depending on your taste.
  • If you prefer a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce for a little heat.
  • Serve this salmon with your favorite side dishes, like roasted vegetables, rice, or a crisp salad.
