Ingredients
Scale
- 8 cups popped popcorn (about 1/2 cup unpopped kernels)
- 1 cup white chocolate chips (or white candy melts)
- ¼ cup red and pink candy sprinkles
- ¼ cup heart-shaped candies (such as M&Ms or Valentine’s Day candy)
- ¼ cup mini marshmallows (optional)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for melting chocolate)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, for extra flavor)
Instructions
- Pop the popcorn using your preferred method (stovetop, microwave, or popcorn maker). Once popped, remove any unpopped kernels and transfer the popcorn to a large mixing bowl.
- Melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and fully melted. (Alternatively, you can melt the chocolate using a double boiler on the stovetop.)
- Stir in the vegetable oil to the melted chocolate to give it a smoother consistency. Optionally, add vanilla extract for a touch of extra flavor.
- Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the popcorn, tossing gently to coat the popcorn evenly.
- Immediately sprinkle the candy sprinkles, heart-shaped candies, and mini marshmallows (if using) over the chocolate-covered popcorn. Toss again to distribute the toppings.
- Allow the popcorn to cool for about 10-15 minutes, until the chocolate hardens and the popcorn is set.
- Serve the Cupid’s Crunch in bowls or store it in an airtight container for up to a week.
Notes
- You can easily customize the toppings to suit your taste. Add in chocolate chips, candy hearts, or even crushed-up cookies.
- For an extra pop of color, try using pink, red, or white chocolate chips or candy melts.
- If you prefer, you can skip the sprinkles and candy for a more subtle version, just using the white chocolate.
